Nick Smith
Nick is one of Portland’s Directors and is responsible for business development and strategy.
Another member of our team steeped in oil history, Nick is the great-grandson of Sir Albert Smith, one of the early heating oil pioneers, as it replaced coal as a domestic fuel. Nick is CEO of Ashley & Dumville Ltd, whose brands include the recruitment house Oil Recruitment and “Have I got news for you” type publications such as Fuel Oil News, Bulk Distribution and Oil Installer.
Nick is a graduate of Bristol University with a BSc in Geology, which has never been used.
